Finding an all original 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS as a barn or field find is a very rare experience these days, but this is the case with this example located in Tampa, Florida. The car is amazingly still with its original owner and is all numbers matching, but clearly needs a full restoration.

The car is clearly dishevelled but still shows its original forest green paintwork as it seems to have been stored undercover all these years, but apparently not been started in the last 15 years. You don’t really get much more information with the vehicle, so it’s down to the accompanying images to get a handle on this rarity.

The exterior has clear surface rust, but the rest of the car looks relatively solid, especially from the few other underneath, trunk and close-up images. Solid metal is the number one priority with any restoration project. The hot Florida weather and it being kept undercover for years have definitely helped with keeping deep rust at bay. As the engine has not been run in 15 years, it could be in any sort of state internally, but at least everything parts wise is there. The same goes for the interior where everything seems to be in place, but will need a good cleaning up or repairing, like the tear in the drivers seat.

Being an original owner car, it should come with some documentation and back history, it’s just a shame it’s not defined in the listing.

A 1 owner 1970 Chevelle SS which is numbers matching in prime condition like this one could easily double your money. It’s being pitched at an initial $28,000 so the owners know it’s worth. The car clearly needs a good restoration, and it’s definitely worth it for any 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS.
