1970 Chevrolet Chevelle 454

Does it get any better than this? A 1970s Chevelle with a monster 454 engine, white interior, and a convertible to match. Gadzooks!

The Chevy Chevelle was made between 1963 and 1977.
The car went through three generations, but it was the more squared up, Coke bottle styling of the 1970s SS 454 version which still stands as ‘the king of the road.’
The 454 cu in (7.4 L) LS5 V8 was rated at 360 hp ( in reality usually a lot more, but for official insurance purposes of the time, quoted a lot less!)

Even if this true hot rod was a hard top the car is a winner. But throw in a drop top and you have a true classic. Imagine cruising in this gem on a warm summer evening and feel nothing in the world can bother you.

Well, that is how most of us feel when we are driving our classic car or truck. Not a care in the world and nothing but love. It is only when we get home does the harmony end and real life fade back in. At least that is how most of us feel when we drive our cars. After all the work, money, worry, and time we put into our ride we certainly deserve a few hours of pleasure. Not much to ask at all. Now the trick is to find a way to get that feeling more often.

For some of us just going into the garage and staring at our rides is enough. It’s like art work at the museum. One can just go into the garage or park it in the driveway and just stare at it and feel complete. Whether it is you AMX or the 70 Chevelle as you see above enjoy every moment of your car. It completes you and you are a better person for it.
