1969 Chevrolet Yenko Chevelle With Only 1,200 Miles
By David Ashton
Diving in here to the higher end of the muscle car market, this is an incredible 1969 Chevrolet Yenko Chevelle that has amazingly only done 1,200 miles in its lifetime.
The Yenko breed of muscle cars are some of the most sought-after in the muscle car world, and this one is probably top of the heap. Only 99 versions were built of the Yenko Chevelles.
It is a two owner vehicle and as you would expect is thoroughly documented and still in unrestored condition.
Its first owner used the vehicle for dragstrip racing around the Midwest, who lightly modified the car.
The car features an iron block L72 427ci. engine with a high-lift solid-lifter cam, aluminium intake manifold, 800 CFM Holley 4-barrel carburetor, going to a Muncie M22 “Rock Crusher” close-ratio 4-speed transmission and a 12-bolt 4.10:1 Positraction rear end.
the original hp rating was around 425HP, but as with every muscle car at the time the rating was probably far higher.
The car’s exterior comes in a cool Butternut Yellow paint and the standard black Yenko graphics.
The car is currently up for auction at Mecum, Kissimmee on Jan 6th-15th 2017.
As you’d expect, the final price is anybody’s guess as it is one of the finest examples of muscle car history so is worth every cent.
