Personally, any 1960s Chevy Impala is a prized vehicle. The styling and size denotes a time when your car stood for your status and none showed this off better than an Impala.

This 1966 Chevrolet Impala SS 396 convertible is a great affordable way to experience a big block vintage muscle car at a reasonable asking price of $14,500 obo from Hemmings. The ’66 version of the Impala receives some minor changes and upgrades from the ’65 model and in convertible form, shows the added benefit of muscle car power and cool for summer cruising. Not only that, 38,000 Impalas were produced that year making it the second most popular that year.

This example comes in restored condition with plenty of spare parts, including ‘4 pairs of bumpers, several core supports, several extra deck lids, several spare dash, extra top cylinders, lots of additional used chrome, extra wipers, etc.’. The red exterior and black convertible top give the car a great simple look.

The L35 396 big block engine comes with a four speed manual transmission which has been rebuilt with a new clutch and a new exhaust. the engine bay only needs a few tweaks like tidying up the electrics and the better air cleaner, but everything looks very clean around here.
