Beauty, grandeur, and serious power! The 1970 Ford Torino GT!

It was 1970, a time of no restrictions. A time of three speed autos or 4 speed manuals, wing vent windows, no catalytic converters and your choice of cars you could order the 429 Cobra Jet engine. Let’s take a look at which one I would choose.

Here is a 1970 Torino GT. All the machismo of the Mustang of the same year but a longer wheelbase. Plus, if you were a fan of NASCAR races at the time, you’d see the Ford brand represented by the Torino.

This glorious car is running a 7L with an advertised 370 HP and 450 lb-ft of torque.

0-60 in this beast should hit at 6 seconds and the quarter-mile should print out at 14.5 seconds at a bit over 100 mph.

There are a few for sale, this one being a nice driver and in my favorite Ford Candy Apple Red. Simply gorgeous and rapid for its time and even now.
