Watch Hennessey’s 5th-gen 1,000 HP Camaro ZL1

Not too long ago Hennessey were hitting headlines with their Camaro alternative to the Dodge Demon, aptly named The Exorcist. The Exorcist is a 6th-gen. Camaro producing 1,000 crank HP and although it didn’t have all the drag racing goodies you find in the Demon, the car definitely made a statement.

This time the same makeover is on a 5th-gen Camaro ZL1. The video starts by saying the Camaro in question was a previous customers who originally opted for Hennessey’s HPE750 package in 2013, but now wants something a bit more outrageous. That means fitting their HPE1000 package.

The package includes a 427ci. LSX V8 crate engine built to Hennessey’s specs., a stage2 transmission to handle all the power, an upgraded 2.9-L supercharger, custom HPE camshaft, ported cylinder heads and a completely rebuilt fuel system. This equates to 1,000 crank and 800 lb-ft of torque.

The video gives you a short clip into how this beast runs on the road, along with its thunderous soundtrack and basic rundown of specs. Its clear to say that Hennessey’s HPE1000 package can certainly turn a vehicle into a road going monster. It still may not be enough to exercise the spirit of the Demon as a complete package, but it sure proves its point for pure brute force of power.
