There are so many ways you can enjoy a classic muscle car, from show car to daily driver and everything in between.
For Bruce Hayes, Ferrysburg, Michigan, he went from event organiser to event competitor.

“For 10 years before I started, I worked the event” with the West Michigan Pontiac Club, at the Pure Stock Muscle Car Drag Race, Mid-Michigan Motorplex, Stanton he said. “I got tired of watching everybody have fun.”

This meant taking his Pontiac GTO and using all original stock parts and building the car to the Royal Bobcat tuning package specifications. (Royal Bobcat were the 1960s R+D dealers for Pontiac performance.)
The car was then good enough to win the Concours Gold Award during the 2006 GTO Association of America Convention.

Not content with just show car accolades, the car competes in Pure Stock events, then retired for the winter months to do a little work on the engine.

Mr. Hayes started his interest in cars building dune buggies, then in high school racing his first 1965 Pontiac GTO in at the U.S. 131 Dragway, in the modified division.

Savouring the muscle car experience a quarter-mile at a time is like eating the finest of food, you don’t need that much that often to enjoy the best you can get.
