Loads of Old Vs New Muscle Car Drag Racing

Most of the time I say don’t compare old vehicles to the new. It’s simply an unfair comparison matching old technology with what we have today. But that’s aimed more towards comparing old muscle cars to newer brands of vehicles from other makers. Matching up same model muscle cars is more of a visual fest than in arguing about like-for-like statistics. So in that vein, this video does very nicely with a whole host of old and new muscle cars going head-to-head.

The match ups were ran at Mission Raceway Park, near Vancouver, Canada and feature 10 minutes of fantastic muscle car action. The action starts off with a Dodge Charger Hellcat loaded with a parachute against an early 70’s Challenger. A Demon then flies against a ’68 Charger, followed by Novas, Camaros, Chevelles, Darts and Mustangs.

Its a shame the individual stats. of each car aren’t listed. If they are all stock or not, but many of the classic muscle cars get the jump off the line the quickest, with the newer versions having the most high-end power. Even if you just watch this video for checking out nearly 50 years difference of muscle car technology, sounds and the cool designs, it’s worth the viewing time.
