Joe McMurrey Shelby Collection Goes To Auction

Only an hour away from the birthplace of Carroll Shelby, Longview, Texas, houses one of the best private collections of Shelby automobiles in the country.

Joe McMurrey has collected Shelby vehicles for many years, along with Gm’s and Mopars also for sale, but the focus of the auction will be 17 Shelby vehicles, including a 1965 Shelby GT350 – the 41st car built, a 1967 Shelby Cobra 427 roadster, a 1968 Shelby GT500KR convertible and a a 1970 Ford Boss 302 Kar Kraft Trans Am racer.

Joe is selling the collection as he views collectors as just custodians of the cars, now ready to pass them on to the new owners.
The collection of cars was so impressive that Carroll Shelby himself visited in October 2011 to check out these wonderful vehicles.
