First Inductees At New Canadian Drag Racing Hall of Fame
Canadian drag racing is as popular as it is in the US, so it has been long overdue for them to have a Hall of Fame dedicated to the best of their drag racers.
The first inductees into their Hall of Fame consist of 38 well-known racers, just as well known in the US as in Canada. They were inaugurated on October 9th, 2015 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, during a gala event held at the Hotel universal.

The Hall of Fame nominees have to reside in Canada and have actively participated in the sport of drag racing for more than 20 to 25 years.
One of the inductees, Gordon Bonin, Red Deer, Alberta, was a major competitor in funny cars during the 1970s with his Pontiac Firebird, regularly making 240 mph, giving him the nickname ‘240 Gordie.’ Bonin also won nine NHRA national event wins in funny car. Regrettably Bonin died in 2013.
