Find Of The Day: 1979 Pontiac Trans Am

A red 1979 Pontiac Trans Am in today’s car landscape looks loud and proud, and that is the point of a vehicle like this one. Plus, with a car that is apparently quite driveable, $3000 doesn’t seem that much for such a head turner.

The engine is said to have been rebuilt three years ago any said to drive very well. However, it does have a leaking transmission line, but that should be a straightforward fix. The interior looks in reasonable shape for the price and with a few replacement parts can be brought back up to scratch.

From the images it looks like the car will definitely need some rust work performing and maybe even some of the panels replacing, with the ad. saying the car will need some floor work and a new trunk pan. How far the rust goes in is hard to say from the included images, but there is definite bodywork needed throughout. It’s a good thing that the seller has included quite a few images of the worst bits.

For $3000 and a reasonable running engine this Pontiac may just be worth a second look.
