Find Of The Day: 1966 Plymouth Barracuda Playmate Edition

By  |

By Dave Ashton

Back in the 1960s, it seemed to be the thing where each year the Playmate of the year was lucky enough to be handed a custom pink muscle car. One rarity we wrote about in the past was the 1968 Pink AMC given to Angela Dorian. Now, with the passing of Hugh Hefner more of these pink muscle cars will start to rise to the surface.

This pink 1966 Plymouth Barracuda is said to be 1 of 10 made as code 999, similar to the one given to Playmate Lisa Baker. This example will need to be truly verified to see for is the real deal, but at the least, it does come with a Fender tag the carpetless interior does look pink as it may be the original paintwork.

This is clearly a project car and there is no mention if there is a powertrain and if it is even working. Most of the interior looks intact and for the $4000 asking price is definitely room for manoeuvre here. This works out to be the real deal. At the very least it could be a conversation starter!

It would also be interesting to know what happened to the original Cuda given to Lisa Baker. After scouring the Internet, there seems to be plenty of images of the vehicle, but no details of if it still exists. If any of you out there have any information on this vehicle please comment below.
