You Can’t Get Better Than A 1967 Corvette

Another example from Vanguard Motors in Michigan that makes me want a Corvette more than ever. I say that because I have a good friend that has a red ’67 Corvette with the 427 engine and I have lusted after that for ages.
He was recently approached by a Corvette Broker and was asked to sell his. I was standing right there and witnessed what I thought was amazing. Now the Vette in front of me that night was the big block and has been judged by the NCRS judges. It’s a beautiful car and the broker wanted it from my friend. As a matter of fact within a few days the broker offered 165k for the ’67 Corvette and was turned down by my friend. Why? Well, first my friend loves his car. Second he does not need the money and lastly he wants it in his possession for the 50th anniversary next year.
I stood by in awe that any stock car that is almost fifty years after it was built can haul in that kind of money. Few regular items in life have increased in value in fifty years like this. The car cost less than 4K new! Gadzooks. And now here is a legit offer for 165k and it’s not accepted. Seems my chances of owning one just got a lot slimmer.
Maybe I should focus on a ’63 Convertible!
