An Amazing 1971 Mercury Cougar XR7 Convertible
This is a fine example of a 1971 Mercury Cougar XR7 Convertible. 1,717 of the 62,864 Cougars built were convertibles, with only 22 with his paint code Black, Ford #1724-A and trim package.
This makes it one rare Mercury Cougar.
The car has had one repaint in its life and the original red carpet replaced with a black version.
The ad says that apart from these points, the car is completely original, including the convertible top. This is impressive in itself as its usually the convertible top is the first to go on these rides.
The car currently has new BF Goodrich Radial TA’s 245/70/15 tires and brand new Magnum 500’s to round off its features.
Clearly, this is an all original specimen and being a Mercury , it does have the overly expensive pricetag. Some of its competitors.
