Bonding with your car is one of the reasons why many people own them for years, or why they even get into the hobby in the first place. This was the case for Maria Shrout and her pea-green 1968 Plymouth Barracuda now lovingly called, ‘Sweet Pea.’

Maria Shrout from Long Beach, California, fell in love with the car because it was understated and not your traditional performance vehicle. It still packs a decent enough punch with a 318cu. V8 engine, but that’s not really the point here. The idea is to have an understated muscle car, a classic, but something not too ovety or over the top.

The car’s stock and it’s only the paint job and seats that have been reworked.

The car was previously owned by ‘a little old lady from Pasadena’ and should now be now cared for in the same way for years to come. The car shows that classic muscle cars don’t always have to be performance machines to be valuable, it’s really down to the particular car and its own set of features, not just its powertrain.
