3000hp Corvette Goes Airborne!

This Kelly Bise Racing Corvette was testing its wares at the WannaGOFAST Texas 1/2 Mile. The problem was the obvious difficulty laying down those 3000 horses to the ground.

The car features a 427 CI LSX engine, Twin 88mm Turbo’s and parachutes that could slow down the descent of a tank, but it seems like problems arise from the start.

The first run, where the car was tuned down to 2000 HP seems to initially go well at 174.8mph, but skids off.
On the following run, the car’s parachute seems to fail and the car skids off 300+ feet, before bouncing around to a bumpy stop.

The car seems to have shrugged it off as it drives back to the pits with the drivers no worse for wear. Luckily the car didn’t roll, but obviously it gave the driver and those watching a good adrenaline shot for the day.
