After the last few years of tweaking to the face of the Chevrolet Camaro, the 2021 updates bring more subtle changes. The items included in each trim level have been slightly rearranged, but still consist of eight variations for the coupe and seven for the convertible models.

Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will be standard across the range, which was previously only available on the ZL1 trim. For those opting for an SS model, with the 1LE Track Performance Package, there will be the option of a 10-speed automatic, which was previously only available with a 6-speed manual transmission. This option will also change up the rear end from a 2.77:1 to a 2.85:1 gear ratio. Extras such as the RS and Redline Edition packages will also be available to entry-level V8 models.

As for other package changes, the Insignia, Shock and Steel special-edition packages disappear in 2021, along with the Rally Green and Garnet Red Tintcoat color options. Replaced by a new color of Wild Cherry Tintcoat.

The new Camaro comes with tire sizes ranging from 245/50 R18 on the LS model to a massive 285/30 ZR20 front and 305/30 ZR20 rear on the ZL1 model, according to TireWheelGuide.com.

When it comes to power trains, not much changes in this department with the LS and LT models still having a turbocharged 2L four cylinder engine producing 275hp or the 3.6L V6 with 335hp. Next up, the LT1 and SS models carry on with the tried and tested 455hp 6.2L V8, while the ZL1 keeps the 650hp supercharged 6.2L V8. For transmissions, a six speed manual is available on all models, with an eight speed automatic for all four cylinder variants and a 10 speed self shifting version for V6 and V8 models.

All these new options will be available in the fall of 2020, with not much change in pricing predicted. Which means that you can pick up a base model starting at roughly $26,900.

As for what may happen with a seventh generation Camaro is anybody’s guess at this point. There may be an electric model thrown into the mix, but more on that when the news starts to trickle in.
