The 2017 Camaro ZL1: 640Hp Monster Released At New York Auto Show.
The infamous Camaro ZL1 is back in the form of the sixth generation Camaro with new looks, power and equipment.
Some glimpses of the car have already come out as our post yesterday, giving a sneak peek of the ZL1 , but now we have the official facts and figures.
Building on the success of the fifth generation Camaro, the new car will have a supercharged 6.2 L V8, LT4 engine, with 640hp/640ft.lbs of torque. This will travel through a six speed manual or 10 speed automatic transmission with TAPshift, bringing in lightning fast gearchanges.
Magnetic ride control returns in the suspension, with the new custom launch control, electronic differential and 15.35 inch six piston Brembo front brakes.
The whole car being 200lbs lighter than its predecessor.
The exterior of the new car follows function over form, with over 100 hours in the wind tunnel, with redesigned huge front grille and auxiliary radiators fed by the redesigned outboard intakes and a host of other features.
The interior has had a makeover, being leather wrapped with red accents.
You get the same level of equipment has on the 2LT and 2SS, such as HUD, LED Spectrum lighting, memory seats and red seat belts.
Other factors have been redesigned, such as a huge and airflow system, a lower more aggressive front splitter, with lower side skirts are sharper and more aggressive.
The power to weight ratio is a crucial thing here and will set the Camaro apart.

It will compare well to any sports coupe, at any price, and in any setting.”
