1982 Camaro Z28 Indy 500 PaceCar
By Dave Ashton
If you grew up in a certain decade you always have an affinity for the vehicles built in that time period, good and bad. The 80s didn’t exactly set the muscle car world alight with power and performance, but the decade did have its own unique designs which can still be bought for a reasonable amount today and in many cases, customised without the guilt of wrecking a rare classic or at least compared to the classics of the late 60s and 70s.
This 1982 Z/28 Indy 500 pace car was produced for the Indianapolis 500, May 30th 1982 and is one of the vehicle, with 70k miles and from all appearances, looks in fantastic condition. Rarity wise, it’s about 1 of 6,000 with pace car decals and badging. powertrain wise it has a 5.0L V8 With the manual four-speed transmission with even the fuel injected version of producing 165hp. However, this example is in great condition and a nice example of its time.
It’s not the rarest or most sought-after vehicle out there and with an asking price of $7200, probably touch over expected. However, for those interested in pace cars or part of a wider collection, this example may just fill a gap.
