The 1977 Ford Mustang Cobra ll is reminiscent of the post golden era of muscle cars where everything was downsized. Not just in engine capacity also in style in some cases. Because most of this era of car are not high on people’s rarity list, they can be picked up for a reasonable amount such as this vehicle.
It clearly looks very late 1970s in its styling and is clearly letting everybody know it’s a Cobra with its huge side decals. The shots of the car in a junkyard add to its low-fi quality, which is probably a subliminal bonus for getting a decent price.
The car is actually in reasonable condition on the surface, but the underside looks very rusty. There is no indication of how deep the rust actually goes. Its said to run and drive, but has sat for many years and has a power steering fluid leak. The engine is a far cry from the mighty V8s from just a few years before with a 171 cubic-inch V6 producing only 95 hp.
If you’re after something cheap, quirky and fun without breaking the bank, this Cobra could be a nice little restoration project.
