1973 Dodge Dart Swinger, All Original
By David Ashton
If you’re in the market for buying a classic muscle car in great shape, all original and ready to drive without breaking the bank, this may be the one for you.
What this one may lack in brute force and power, it makes up for in originality and condition being owned by an elderly woman up until five years ago.
It may only have a 225 Slant 6 engine, but there are only 34,161 on the clock and you can bet it’s been kept in good shape over the years.
Everything here from the exterior to the vinyl top and chrome work is in wonderful condition apart from a few hickups here and there like a tear in the front bench seat and as the ad says, some minor scuffs and scratches here and there around the body.
Getting onto showroom condition and a price for $7000, this would make a nice classic for anybody wanting a buy and drive car which needs only minimal work.
Original ad as below –
‘This is a 1973 Dodge Dart Swinger. This vehicle has all original miles, and as of the photographs posted here shows 34161. This mileage will likely rise by just a few miles by the time this vehicle sells as the car is driven around the block regularly.
This Dart has the 225 Slant 6 engine and 904 Torqueflite transmission, both original.
Some parts have been updated, including:
-New carburetor
-New fuel pump and fuel filter
-New tires & wheels (old hubcaps are still available to be included)
-New shocks
-New front bearings/tie rod ends
-New rear bearings
The exterior is all original as well. The paint is in great shape with no rust spots. The hard top is in excellent shape and shows no signs of wear. There are some minor scuffs, scratches, and dents from use. There is one larger dent in the rear bumper (pictured) and a small splotch just in front of the hood (also pictured).
This car was originally purchase by an elderly woman who ownde it up until about 5 years ago. Upon her passing, it was auctioned off to a dealer who then immediately sold it to the gentleman who owns it now. It has been kept in a garage all its life, and covered for most of that time (thus the hard top showing no signs of wear). The small damages to the exterior are from the elderly woman pulling it in to/out of her garage. All new part replacements were done by the current owner who has extensive mechanical abilities.
This car both runs and looks great, and you’ll be hard pressed to find another like Dart like this, all original, and such low miles.’
