1972 Plymouth Duster 340, Matching Numbers

The Plymouth Duster ran from 1970–1976, originally based on the Valiant platform. Built to compete with the Ford Maverick, AMC Hornet and Chevy Nova. This example is said to be numbers matching, with ‘mostly original paint’ and in very nice condition.

The color isn’t directly quoted, but looks like Blue Sky with a blue interior. The ad. doesn’t go into detail about what is original or not in the paintwork, but at least from the images the whole exterior looks in nice condition. There doesn’t seem to be any rust issues here, with all the metalwork looking very straight. On first impressions, it looks very much in show condition. The bench seat and rest of the interior shows very little sign of any wear and really only needs detailing work.

The engine bay is in good condition housing the 340ci./5.6 L V8. There are no details of how many miles the engine has done and what work has been done in the past, only that it’s numbers matching.

This Duster comes with the original build sheet, bill of sale and warranty booklet, aswell as original inspection marks, which may mean the seller is implying alot from the condition it shows in the images and all the provided documentation.

This example is a fantastic time capsule and worth the asking price. A reasonably potent 340 V8 if it checks out working okay, meaning it has muscle car looks, in great condition and should give you years of enjoyment. Any potential buyer should first get some more information on car before it shortlisted.
