1972 Monaro Muscle Car Wrecked on Rena Container Ship

This is the sort of image nobody wants to see. The remains of an Aussie muscle car wrecked after a container ship hit a reef.

The 1972 Holden Monaro GTS was in a container of over 2000, when the ship hit the Astrolabe Reef off the coast of Tauranga.
The owner of the car, ex-pat Troy Levien was to be reunited with the vehicle for the first time in four years.

Containers are still being recovered from the wreck, but it’s no consolation for this car owner.
