Named after Sammy Davis Jr.’s “Here Comes The Judge” skit on TV’s Laugh-In, originally made the Pontiac GTO Judge more over blown than other muscle cars of the day, but in the grand scheme of things, the GTO Judge stands out as one of the icons of the classic muscle car era.
If you see images of a late 60s, early 70s GTO, it’s usually of a Judge. Loud, proud and a stamp of authority.
Also, it made a great bedroom wall poster as a kid. Cool name, cool looks, just cool all round! The judge badge itself, arguably one of the coolest badges of the muscle car era.
Onto the car.
GTO heaven.com say there was a total of 108 judge convertibles made in 1969, but how many that were convertibles with automatic transmission is unclear at this point.
Haggerty.com valuation is roughly around – $137,000.00, (‘judged’ at this price point due to the ad’s. statment – ‘ frame off restoration done to a very nice condition. Not perfect but very nicely done.’) but you have to take these estimates as a very rough, general guideline.
