It started life in 1963.
Ford took the 260 engine which was in the Falcon, Ford cut 16 inches out of the chassis to make the Ford Mustang III. Vince Gardner was involved in building the body.
The idea was for the car to tour around the country, to be eventually crushed like any other pre-production car.
The designer acquired the car and more or less built a wall around the car until the owner of the building knocked down the walls and found this rarity Mustang. in 1968 the November or December issue of Hemmings advertise the car for sale, which was bought by the present owner.
Car now being up for sale.

The body was built of fiberglass, a material with which Gardner and DST had much experience. Under the hood was a new version of the early Mustang’s 260 V-8, bored out to 302 cubic inches and equipped with a three carburetor setup – an experimental version of what would become an iconic “muscle” powerplant. It was mated to a specially strengthened, rebuilt automatic transmission, on a chassis otherwise equipped with the independent front suspension, hypoid rear axle, and hydraulic front disc and rear drum brakes common to other early Mustangs.

In total, this is possibly one of the rarest mustangs out there and although now sold, it is worth watching a short video to get an overview of this wonderful car.
The car is titled as a 1965 and was sold title in transit.
