Twin 1987 Buick Grand Nationals Found In in Oklahoma

You would naturally think that any news concerning muscle cars or American vehicles would be a stateside affair. However, this news report from the Daily Mail in the UK reports two all original, identical 1987 Buick Grand Nationals with sequential VIN numbers found in a small town in western Oklahoma.

Both vehicles rolled off the production line in sequence and have been sat unused until discovered recently by William Avila. The cars amazingly still have their window stickers and one of them only having 592 miles on the odometer, with the other 807 miles.

After a lot of negotiations the twin vehicles were finally bought on March 31 ready to be brought back to their former glory.

Buick Grand Nationals were arguably one of the standout muscle cars of the 1980s with their 3.8 liter turbocharged V6 engines. The Buick GNX which was the final version of the Grand National, is probably one of the rarest from this decade.

It goes to show guys that these vehicles are still out there if you look hard enough.

1987 GRAND NATIONAL SPECS

Engine: 231.4cubic-inch, 3791cc turbocharged overhead-valve V-6, port fuel-injection

Power and torque: 245 horsepower; 355 pound-feet of torque

Drivetrain: Four-speed automatic, rear-wheel drive

Performance: 0-60 mph in 6.1 seconds and 149 feet; quarter mile in 14.7 sec

Price when new: $16,617
