Transformers: Dark of the Moon 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle

This weekend not having much to do I decided to watch the rerun of the 2011 cgi fest Transformers Dark of the Moon. This is not a synopsis of the movie, or if it is good or bad, but rather the standout vehicle in the film what seems to be a 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396.

It’s clear that the movie franchise has a leaning towards Chevrolet dancing this vintage muscle car among the supercar lineup was quite refreshing. If you look closely, the car has no vent windows and the tail lights are not from 69 model, but everything else lines up for that year. You can catch the car in the video below at 0.38 secs.

As with all Hollywood movie cars, they are usually a mishmash of certain parts to gain a certain look and feel for their respective scenes. Luckily, in this case the Chevelle has kept most of its original look. The other great thing about the movie is that it obviously centers on the supercars in general, but the addition of the Chevelle shows how classic and standout the car design has always been. The classic muscle car look definitely stands up against the rest of the supercar lineup and looks as impressive as anything else shown in the movie.
