Trans Am Depot 455 Super Duty Has 1,100Hp

It seems these days if you build a custom muscle car you don’t gain anybody’s attention unless its over 1,000 horsepower. In this case it’s Trans Am Depot who have bumped up the output of their 455 Super Duty modern-day Firebird to make it move as good as it looks.

The company specialise in making modern day Pontiac Firebirds from sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaros and to keep up with the competition and get the latest offering into the three figure horsepower range, they needed to switch to race fuel and methanol injection to hit their goal. The only limitation in the setup is the 8-speed automatic transmission which is already reinforced to handle the demands of the engine – a Camaro 6.2L Magnuson supercharged V8 upgraded to 7.5L/455c.i.

Other upgrades to the car include a roll cage, carbon fibre panels, Strange Engineering 9 inch rear differential, Eibach springs and Weld wheels. The final power output should reach around 1,100 hp with 1,046lbs. of torque, good enough to make the quarter-mile in the low nine second mark, or even touching eight seconds.

Pricing is yet to be confirmed but will likely start around $110,000 and the full drag package being around $190,000.
