Yeah, the worlds fastest standing mile in a street car is held by a muscle car!

Johnny Bohmer hit 283.232 mph with his BADD GT at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, USA, on 16 October 2012.
The BADD GT is a 1700 hp 2006 Ford GT, capable of a 9 second 1/4 mile, 0-60 mph: 2.5 sec, which according to the website  is now capable of 300 mph!
