Starting A New Project: A 1974 Nova By Michael Biltjinitis

This Readers Ride submission is right at the start of the story, the point where you have to discover everything that needs fixing on the car.
This usually means there are more discoveries and surprises than a hit show drama.
Michael Biltjinitis shows us his 1974 Nova right at the start of its restoration.

‘Its a 350 stock disc brakes a/c it’s a 74 custom.’
‘I took the carpet out as the entire inside smelled of mouse urine.
Nova has no rust on the inside, just normal wear on the rear quarter panels and they aren’t even that bad. I’ve seen worse on other Novas, usually round where there was a hole for a cb radio. Patched that up nice.’
‘The quadrajet was giving me fits, so I rebuilt it three or four times. I put a Holley carb. on it, which made it much better, but not perfect, so it just needs a good tune.’
Just test drove it and the left wheel locked up, so the next thing to do before getting it to go fast is to fix the brakes and alignment to make it safe.’
