Would You Save Or Scrap This Camaro Z/28?

Pet peeve time. If you are on the web there seems to be a crowd that will post pictures of amazing cars like this Camaro. Then the caption will read, ” save or scrap”.?

Now, let me be clear on this. If you stumbled onto a ’69 Z/28 that had been parked or neglected as we like to say would you save it? Duh, of course not. Let it rot. Let the mice make a new home and maybe the rats can eat the seats and wiring for you. Is that what you would expect as an answer?
Ask a stupid question and…. You know the rest.

Of course you would save it. Anyone in our hobby would know it’s worth the trouble. And it is trouble. How can a Z28 be trouble? Gadzooks. Let any car sit for twenty years in a drafty barn and you can count on the following. Mice eating your seats. Mice eating your wires. Raccoons building a vacation home. Dogs crapping on the hood, and nests built anywhere you cannot see. So, the trouble is getting the car into the sun light and tearing everything apart. Gutting the deer as some might say. Once you gut it then the real work begins. Complete and total restoration. In another words, mountains of money and time. Two years later if you are lucky you may be done. Then you can really answer the original question.
