Public Auctions: Can You Buy A Muscle Car Bargain?

The quick answer to the title of this article is, ‘it depends.’
It depends on the auction in question and if you strike it lucky, but if you monitor these auctions regularly, muscle cars do crop up in the listings and you could land a decent vehicle for a decent price. It’s like most things in life, timing, then setting your budget. Then it’s a matter of bidding until you get what you want.

We had a look at the Los Angeles County Public Estate Auction (link below).
For the auction coming up on Saturday, October 10, 2015, there were listings for a 1964 AMC Rambler American 440
Convertible (ok, not exactly a true muscle car, but a classic all the same), a 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback, a 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible and a 1957 Ford Thunderbird Convertible, all in various grades of condition.

It’s doubtful that you are going to go to a public auction and find a rare optioned Plymouth Barracuda in perfect condition, but if you keep an eye on the listings for long enough, you should find some gems among the many rocks.

Check out the public auctions that are in your state and monitor them for a few months if you are on the lookout for a muscle car or even parts for a muscle car.
You never know what you will find and you might even find a bargain.
