Pigtails In Front of Muscle Cars

I wonder in other parts of the world if they do like us Americans? Do what? Well it seems we love to take pictures of people in front of cars. It might not even be our car but I just saw it myself over the holiday weekend. I showed you a picture of a 31 Ford Roadster parked at the Angola exit in New York. A whole family of what appeared to be Koreans walked up to the trailer and started snapping pictures of different family members next to the car. It got this old boy thinking. Why do we do this? Why is by a car? Why not near a tree or a fence, or the family goat? Why the car? Does it represent something I am unaware of? Does it mean we have a car so let’s show it off? I have seen thousand of pictures of people standing next to a car to get a photo. When I take my cars to a show people will at times line up to get a photo of themselves next to one of my cars or trucks. I am fine with that but why? I don’t go pose next to a house or a bush to get my picture taken.

I do get my picture taken with my cars but they are my cars. I think that is ok. But, when total strangers do it I wonder why? Or, if mom wants to send Aunt Mabel a recent picture of her niece why is the family car the back drop? Wouldn’t a tree be better or a big green bush or possibly in the back yard next to the rose bushes. Why out in the dank, cold driveway with a terrible background. It does make me wonder and I hope you readers can help me figure this out.
