The Mercury Cougar XR-7 was designed as a more luxurious muscle car, especially in convertible format.
This is a first generation car (1967-1970) and arguably the best looking.
The design of the Cougar changed throughout its first-generation, with the ’69 version having its grille switched from vertical to horizontal bars. This was also the first year of the convertible, making this one quite rare.
The 351 cu. engine was the standard and the middle of the range, with original engine choices going from the 289cu. to the mighty 427cu FE.
