A Mighty Pontiac GTO

This GTO rolled into our local car show recently and I made a bee line to get there. I first wanted to know if it was real or a clone.
The owner swears it was the real deal and said he could prove it. I did not take that any further but I did believe him. The car was beautiful.
I did not care for the wheels but it is something we would have done years ago. The paint just glimmered in the sun light as did the interior. I am attracted to these for the nose cone of all things. I know all about the engines and transmissions as well as all the other high points. But we all have a special place for certain GTO cars.
From 1964 to about 1971 was the hey day. After that GM just stuck the GTO badge on terrible, weak cars. I wish I saw more of these cars as they were something very special. I made sure I looked this car over and the owner was happy to tell his story. That is what I like best after looking at our classics. The back story. Most owners are thrilled to tell you so. Do yourself a favor and ask, you will always hear something interesting.
