The Mid Engine Corvette Zora Prototype Spotted
These are the first images spotted of the possible new Chevrolet’s mid-engine Corvette prototype as captured by Autoblog http://www.autoblog.com/photos/mid-engine-chevrolet-corvette-spy-shots/#slide-3962547
The Zora” Corvette prototype was spotted with a few other C7 Corvettes on a General Motors test track, possibly Milford Proving Grounds.
As you can see from the grainy image, the car is camouflaged not showing much detail, apart from it having a wider stance than the C7 Corvette, along with flying buttresses.
There is not much more detail apart from a covered front quarter grille and rear brake ducts, with the doors showing similarities again with the C7 Corvette.
So why would Chevy be planning a mid-engined Corvette? GM recently proposed a $290 million investment at their assembly plant and this mid-engined vehicle may debut at the 2018 North American International Auto Show as stated in Car and Driver http://blog.caranddriver.com/c8-in-2018-the-latest-on-the-mid-engine-chevrolet-corvette/.
This could mean that the Corvette is moving into supercar territory, but like all these things, it’s early days for where this model of Corvette will progress.
