Mecum Indy 2017 Has A Fine 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS LS6

Mecum’s latest auction will take place between May 16 – 20th at Indiana State Fairgrounds, 1202 E 38th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46205 and amongst the vast array of fantastic muscle car stands out is a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle LS6 Convertible.

There are many fantastic vehicles on offer this time around, such as three 1969 Yenko Camaros, a 1970 Chevrolet Yenko Deuce and a 1969 Chevrolet Yenko Chevelle, but just from a complete favouritism point of view, the 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle LS6 is the stand out vehicle for me.

This is mainly because muscle cars hit zenith in 1970 and the Chevelle earnt its moniker of ‘the king of the road’ with its 454ci. 450hp engine and powerful stance. This example is fully documented from GM of Canada and has had a complete restoration and rebuild.

Standout features include the original numbers matching 454 LS6 T0313CRV engine with a T0313CRV block number, Muncie M22 Heavy Duty 4-speed transmission, 3.31:1 Positraction rear end, all part of the RPO Z15 SS454 package. The Cranberry Red paint is definitely a sight to behold and being a convertible makes its scarcity even more valuable.
