Hennessey To Build 1,000-HP Convertible Camaro ZL1 Exorcist

Although the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon has taken up most of the headlines when it comes to the most powerful muscle car around, the beast doesn’t have all the headlines if it is up to Texas outfit Hennessey with their new offering titled, ‘The Exorcist.’ The Dodge Demon may have top billing with a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 with a huge 840 hp and 770 lb.ft. of torque, but the Exorcist wants to take top billing with a 1,000 hp Camaro ZL1 conversion.

The Hennessey Exorcist is based on a Camaro ZL1 which as stock produces an already incredible 650 hp, but with a reworked supercharger and engine produces the extra goods needed. The Exorcist also has a range of other upgrades which include a convertible version, 14 psi of boost supercharger, ported cylinder heads, new camshaft, longed tube steel headers, improved air induction system and upgraded engine management. All this can produce a car which can go 0-62mph in just under 3 seconds and a quarter mile time in a touch under 10 seconds.

If you want to get your hands on one of these incredible machines the starting price is $69,000 for a ZL1 and the Exorcist package costing $50,000, bringing the total to $120,000. If you compare this to the Dodge Demon’s pricetag and $85,000, it may seem a little overpriced, but at least the Exorcist comes in a convertible format.
