What happens if you put your car in REVERSE while driving?

This is a question that has been probably been asked by every car driver. What happens if you put your vehicle in reverse while driving forward? Many have never tried this experiment for the obvious reasons and not wanting to damage their car in anyway or see bits of engine on transmission scattered across the highway. This guy however tests this out for the rest of us and shows the results.

Spoilers here, but the guy slaps the car first in neutral, then reverse and all that happens is the rearview camera comes on and basically nothing else. Essentially, modern vehicles are safeguarded against something like this happening, especially in an automatic transmission vehicle such as the one in the video.
It obviously would be a different matter in a manual transmission vehicle with lots of grinding of gears, but that should be enough for the majority of us to stop such a foolhardy experiment. At least we know now if we accidentally slip into reverse in an automatic nothing will happen, especially in a modern vehicle. As usual, don’t try this at home.
