German vs. American: S65 AMG Sedan vs Challenger Hellcat

Now here’s a comparison we don’t usually feature, a German car vs. some pure American muscle. In fact, usually we steer completely clear of anything but muscle cars on this website, so we thought this video would be interesting for you to see.

At first, the two vehicles are complete opposites. A V8 vs a V12, supercharger vs. twin turbocharger, SRT vs AMG. However, similarities are apparent, just not that many.
The two cars are roughly the same length, but that’s kind of where the comparisons end.

On one side, the 2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat has 707 HP from a 6.2L supercharged engine. The S65 AMG has only a 6 Litre, but has a twin turbo system, producing 621Hp. The Hellcats can do 0 to 60 in three seconds, while the Merc can do it in 4.2 secs.
The biggest difference is really in the price, the Merc being $220,000 and the Challenger starting at $60,000. A big difference.

This video though, is labelled as a rev. battle. We are obviously biased here, but sound wise the Hellcat just more ‘bass end’ and a throatier sound than the Merc. Plus, if you want the most fun for the money, the Hellcat is the obvious winner.
