The Ford Mustang: Officially Germany’s Best Selling Sports Car

According to Ford, the Mustang is officially Germany’s bestselling sports car, beating out the Audi TT and the Porsche 911.

Who would have thought it, a brutish American muscle car selling more units than Germany’s own breed.
A Mustang GT starts at €43,000/$49,000 with the Audi TT, starting at €35,950/$40,500 in the Audi Quattro, starting at €45,550/$51,200. So you can’t even say it is the cheapest out there.

But why would the Germans go for an American-made vehicle over their own refinement?
This could be down to a few factors such as Europe now having a right-hand drive Mustang for the first time and now ‘getting’ the muscle car ethos.

As many reviews have put it, the Mustang may not have the same level of refinement as its European counterparts, but everyone says you come away with a huge smile on your face from the amount of fun and that’s really the point when you buy into this sector of the market.
Muscle/pony cars have more of a raw driving experience, they alert the senses, they trigger that bit more adrenaline than other makes and you’ll never be able to beat sound of an American V8.

All it needs now is for Dodge and Chevy to follow Ford’s lead and see what they can do in the European market.
