Ford GT Design Studio: How A Ford Is Really Designed

It’s always interesting to see the design process of any car, but when it’s a successor to an already legendary vehicle, it’s all the more interesting.

These two videos show the secret design location and process of the latest Ford GT.
To keep the project as hush, hush as possible, the design project was only known to top Ford executives until its release.
(We would like to think the location was 500 miles under the Nevada desert surrounded by heavily armed guards, but it’s probably in a small unit in Delaware…)

It’s also interesting to see all the latest computing and CNC technology used to fast prototype cars, but these are just tools for the same process a car designer has always used, idea in head goes on to paper, becomes a model, then the prototype model, then a test vehicle.
Idea to concept as quick, cheaply and efficiently as possible.
