Sometimes, general car auctions for fleet, damaged or reclaimed vehicles can produce a gem or two, you just have to be patient and keep looking.
One online auction site is http://www.lonestaronline.com. Mostly, generic vehicles, but looking through the listings, we found a 2000 Pontiac Firbird. Not a classic era car and its damaged, but a possible salvageable car, not too far gone.
Obviously, classics will be thin on the ground, but keep a look out and you may find a very good buy.
