Find Of The Day: 1971 Plymouth Barracuda, 1 of 1
By Dave Ashton
Engine: 383 Magnum
Transmission: Manual
Mileage: 52,000
VIN: BS27N1B281423
Price: $175,000.00
This 1971 Plymouth Barracuda is said to be all original as it left the factory apart from a repaint in the past, in a rare TX9 Black with town interior, white top four speed manual transmission and only 52,000 miles.
IS said to be ‘one of only 33 4spd 71 Cuda convertibles produced and optioned at the top of the desirability list.’
The present owner bought the car three years ago, who apparently discovered the broadcast sheet under the backseat verifying the then matching the car.
The only rust issues seem to be on the front fenders, the firewall having some surface rust and some deterioration in the rear trunk extensions. The car’s condition isn’t perfect and is said to have dings and dents here and there. The engine bay also looks like it needs at least a good cleanup.
Same with the interior with some cracks in the dash and minor wear here and there, along with the carpets and seating.
The whole car could be a very fine project to get back to top notch condition and with 71 models being highly collectable, this example is worth shortlisting. The problem is that it’s not going for bargain basement prices at $175,000. 1971 Hemi Cuda convertibles can get into the million-dollar mark, but a 383 version like this in top-notch condition with its rare options is probably near the asking price of this listing.
