Of all the classic muscle car designs of the late 60s and early 70s, the Plymouth Superbird is arguably the most distinctive, along with the similar Dodge Daytona. This Superbird is a 440ci. model in Tor Red with automatic transmission.

The ad. says that the engine and transmission have been professionally rebuilt and the original vinyl top was removed around 1978. There is no indication in the brief description to say if the rest of the vehicle was totally original or if it had some other restoration work over the years. It comes with a clean title, but no other indication of if it is in original state or not.

As you would expect at this price point, everything is clean and in top-notch shape and if it’s originality checks out it’s really down to if the $129,000 pricetag is worth it. According to Hagerty’s valuation tool, the average value of a 1970 Plymouth Superbird 440ci. with 4bbl is $124,000, $169,000 in excellent condition and $216,000 in #1 concours condition. This ‘bird you could possibly rate being in between good and excellent, meaning the selling price is probably around market value. With this in mind, if you are interested in this ride, there is some possible room for haggling here.
