Find Of The Day: 1965 El Camino Hot Rod.
This El Camino started off as a dragster and seems to have been converted back to a streetcar.
It has a 383ci. engine with with 340292 “Turbo” GM Special High Performance heads and Erson Roller Rockers.
It seems like the engine goodies are still in there as the ad. lists other upgrades, which include, ‘ Edelbrock finned aluminum Valve Covers, Intake and Carb with Velocity Stack and functional finned aluminum Hood Scoop. Accel Ignition, 350 Auto with B&M Finned Aluminum + 3 qt. Pan, B&M Mega Shifter and 456 Posi Rear End. Poly engine and trans mounts.’
The suspension is also being jacked along with upgraded front disc brakes, Finned Brake Drums, Wheel Vintiques special backset Wheels with ’65 SS Centers and Narrow Rings, 215 front and 255 rear Tires.
Interior seems to have some upgrades with a new dash, Grant steering wheel, column mounted Tachometer and 2 5/8″ Gauges.
It seems the carpet and upholstery have also been renewed. It’s a shame there are no images of the interior, just of the engine , which seems to be the main selling point here.
Inside are out, this El Camino seems in great shape and best of all price has been reduced from $20,000-$18,000.
There is no mention of how many miles it has done, but the ad. also says that the seller may trade for a 1955, 1956 or 1957 Chevy 2 Door Sedan or 1938 Chevy Coupe, so there is some leeway here for negotiation.
Overall, a fine looking El Camino if you want something a bit better than stock condition.
Engine: 383 cu. in.
Transmission: 4 speed.
Price has been reduce $2000 down from $18000.
