The EPA Accidentally Announce All Wheel Drive 2017 Dodge Challenger
By David Ashton
The rumor mill has been active recently with reports of an all wheel drive Dodge Challenger possibly coming along in 2018.
However, still not completely official, the Environmental Protection Agency now have a listing on their website for a Dodge Challenger in 4WD format.
When you visit their web page, click on the ‘Specs’ tab to see the 2017 Dodge Challenger GT listed as an ‘All-Wheel Drive’ model….hmmmm! As this is meant to be the official US government source for fuel economy, it’s almost as good as an official announcement, sort of, kind of.
The downside here is that the engine specs are only for a ‘3.6 L, 6 cyl, Automatic 8-spd,’ so no V8 listed, which is a shame as we were expecting a healthy Hellcat engine with 4wd, but you never know in the future. I suppose once they iron out the bugs with the six cylinder version, a Hellcat 4WD may be on the horizon.
