Duramax Camaro and Cummins Charger: Diesel Powered Muscle Cars

The billowing smoke we usually see from the rear end of a muscle car is usually pure white from a burnout. But not in this case from this Duramax powered Camaro and Cummins Charger. It’s black smoke all the way.

One Of Won customs of Minnesota decided to do something a little different with their engine swaps by adding a 5.9 L 12 valve, Cummings engine into a Dodge Charger and a 6.6 L Duramax engine into a Chevrolet Camaro.
The Camaro outputs 516 HP and 896lbs. ft. of torque, while the Charger outputs 306 HP with 721lbs. ft. of torque.

Crow barring these engines into the vehicles was a mission upon itself, but the guys at One Of Won did a fine job, removing the subframe and adding spacers to get the engines to fit just right.

From the detailed breakdown on their website the builders took 1500 hours of labor, with the engine drop in being ironically the easiest part of the build.
When you check out the video, you’ll see how snugly each engine fits and how well these cars perform.

It may not be the obvious way forward for a Camaro or Charger, but they do have torque for days, that’s if you don’t mind the black smoke.
