Dodge Factory Stock Cars with Weight Penalty Still Win

The current Dodge Challenger gets some criticisms for being a heavyweight but even with extra weight strapped on, it still winning machine. The Dodge Challenger Drag Pak team dominate the field at the Factory Stock Showdown US Nationals, Indianapolis, to the point that the NHRA penalized them with a 50 pound addition to the car. This was apparently to give the Ford Mustang Cobra Jet and Chevrolet COPO Camaro a more fair advantage. Seems it did’t work and Leah Pritchett won her second class in succession.

Pritchett’s time of 8.001 was clearly the show winning time of the day proving that Dodge are still dominating the Factory Stock class. The Challenger maybe a heavyweight but it can still move that mass faster than the rest.
