Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Gets Octane Edition
By Dave Ashton
The Charger platform has been around since 2011 and is due for some new bones after 2019. But in the meantime Dodge are releasing a few appearance packages with tasty options, such as this limited time Octane Edition. The appearance package will be available at dealerships in fall 2019 for $1,495 with dealers already taking orders.
The package comes in either Pitch Black or White Knuckle and include the following:
Full-length Satin Black center stripe with Octane Red accent tracers on each edge
Complete black exterior badging, including the grille, decklid and fender badges
Satin Black decklid spoiler
20 x 9.5-inch aluminum-forged Cross Brace wheels, painted Low-gloss Black, adopted from the 2019 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320. The Cross Brace wheels include knurled bead seats to minimize tire slip on the wheel under extreme acceleration
Brembo brake package (six-piston front calipers/four-piston rear) with unique Octane Red paint color
For the first time on a Charger SRT Hellcat, the Octane Edition features SRT Performance seats with Houndstooth insert, SRT Hellcat logo stitched into the seat back and red accent stitching
Red interior stitching throughout the cabin
Black-on-black SRT Hellcat instrument panel badge
Red seat belts
Gloss black interior accents and Dark Brushed II instrument panel and console bezels
The Pitch Black finish color with dark accents and full-length Satin Black center stripe certainly give the car that moody, murdered-out look. One of the benefits of the package is the inclusion of the black 20-inch aluminum forged wheels from the Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320 and red Brembo brakes all-round.
A future collectors edition? Maybe, but in any case, the package definitely brings a more aggressive look to the Hellcat. More stylized to how a Hellcat should be, mean and sinister.
